As an artist, I am constantly on the prowl for inspiration, which is not difficult to find in this amazing, color-filled world we are lucky enough to inhabit.

A few days ago, I planted some poppies in the yard–and was so surprised to see one starting to bloom the very next morning! I kept going outside to check on it, and it practically unfolded before my very eyes. The neighbors must think I am crazy (and they may be right), seeing me sit on the ground in my pajamas staring fixedly on the little bloom and clasping my hands with glee.

I could barely contain my giddiness! How incredible that something so delicate can emerge so quickly and perfectly from a strange little poke-ey pod like that.

I quickly made my way into the studio, and used this inspiration to finally make something out of the pretty, poppy-red, Czech glass beads that I have been saving for when inspiration strikes.

Here’s what I came up with!

Brass with 14k gold-filled ear wires, I am really happy with them and am reminded of the beautiful, dainty, bold poppy each time I look at them. You can also view them in my Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/167593607/poppy-hoops?

Off to find some more inspiration! I hope that you find some of your own this lovely day!
